## Worth keeping in mind

- Start with the partner’s preferences and freedom, before selecting a service or audience.
- Compare named responsibility, the complete offer, total costs, privacy and specific location checks.
- Ask about real contingencies and seek appropriate advice on actual terms; no portfolio or payment guarantees the moment or its answer.

> Both proposals look beautiful in the brochure. One quote describes flowers and photographs. The other also explains who answers the phone if your arrival is delayed. Before choosing the scene, you need to understand what the person behind it is actually offering.

Choosing a Paris proposal planner starts with two questions: what would your partner welcome, and what will this service do? Use the checks below to compare clear offers. This is a selection guide, not a tested vendor list. It gives no market prices, venue permissions or promise that a provider will secure a particular answer.

## Set the personal brief before asking for a package

Discuss marriage first. The Gottman Institute recommends conversations about life plans and expectations before the commitment. A planned gesture can keep some details surprising without making the possibility of marriage entirely unexpected.

Ask what kind of moment your partner would enjoy: private or public, quiet or elaborate, recorded or unrecorded. Include access, sensory preferences and what would feel uncomfortable. A travel booking or expensive setup cannot make a yes owed.

Give a provider only the personal information needed for the service. Do not share private relationship history, medical details or a partner’s messages simply to make the event feel more personalised.

## Know who is responsible for the actual work

Ask who you are contracting with and who will be present or reachable. Is the planner coordinating other suppliers, providing the setup themselves, or introducing you to separate businesses? Request clear contact details and a description of responsibilities.

Your Europe’s EU consumer guidance identifies service characteristics, total price and charges, payment or performance arrangements and trader identity as information to check before purchase. Use that as a basis for questions, not as a personal interpretation of refund or cancellation rights.

## Compare the whole quote, not the prettiest photograph

List the proposed work: planning, transport, setup, photography, editing, removal and any other agreed service. Ask what is included, excluded or paid separately, when payment is due and what changes require approval. A lower initial figure is not useful if key costs remain unanswered.

Consider two fictional offers without assigning market prices. Offer A includes a photographer but leaves edited-image delivery and a delayed arrival unexplained. Offer B sets out image delivery, an agreed backup and who confirms a change. That clarity gives you more to compare; it does not prove B is reliable or better for you.

Ask for the missing answers before deciding. Keep the offer and any confirmation in a form you can retain. Do not treat messages about what “usually happens” as terms you have actually agreed.

## Ask who checks the exact Paris location

A photograph cannot establish current availability, access or permission for the proposed setting. Ask who checks these for the exact location and date, and who obtains any necessary approval. Do not assume a public viewpoint, rooftop, garden or boat can be used because it appears in a portfolio.

Clarify the route and the work involved: travel arrival, meeting point, walking or step-free access, waiting time and communication languages. Ask whether the proposed setting will be private in practice, and what the provider means by private.

You do not need a detailed surprise that leaves somebody stranded, unable to leave or dependent on an unknown person. Make sure you can change the plan and reach your own accommodation or transport.

## Agree the camera and the backup before the moment

Ask where a photographer would be, what they would capture and who can use the images afterwards. Get your partner’s agreement about recording and sharing; a proposal does not automatically grant either. Do not arrange hidden filming or a public reaction video.

For rain, delayed travel, an unavailable location or a change of mind, ask what the actual alternative is. Who contacts you, who approves a different setting, and what happens to the work or payment? Request the conditions rather than assuming every provider offers the same remedy.

The NHS recommends checking understanding and protecting personal limits. If your partner no longer wants the planned occasion, the fallback must leave room to stop. A paid service does not change that choice.

## Choose only when the important questions have answers

Compare fit, named responsibility, complete scope and quote, location checks, privacy and contingencies. Leave an unanswered item visibly unanswered. You can choose a simpler self-planned moment instead of treating paid coordination as essential.

If an actual contract or dispute raises questions, seek qualified local consumer advice. This guide offers no French legal opinion, permit assessment or blanket cancellation entitlement. Nobody here has tested or endorsed the providers you are considering.

Keep the brochure if you enjoy the idea. Before booking, make sure the plan respects the person who will be asked and gives you a clear account of who will do what. Romance and useful information can occupy the same conversation.

These are selection questions, not tested supplier recommendations. Seek qualified local advice about an actual contract or dispute.

Quick answers

## Frequently asked questions

How much does a Paris proposal planner cost?

This guide gives no market-price range. Request an itemised total for the actual date and services, including charges, separate suppliers and payment timing. Compare scope and contingencies alongside the amount.

Can I assume the planner handles permissions and photography privacy?

No. Ask who checks the exact location and any necessary approvals. Separately agree recording and sharing with your partner and clarify the provider’s image-use terms.

Does this article recommend a particular planner?

No. It offers original selection questions, not firsthand reviews or rankings. Verify the provider and the specific offer yourself, and use suitable local advice for contractual questions.
