Use a weekly rhythm to catch distance earlier.
Sunday planning covers the appointments, groceries and school bags. Somehow neither of you says how you are doing. A weekly relationship check-in makes a little room for that information: what felt good, what was difficult, what needs repair and what support would help. Keep it short enough to return to and specific enough that one answer can change the coming week.
This guide is not therapy or crisis support. If a relationship feels unsafe, abusive, or in crisis, contact qualified local support or emergency services.
The four questions that matter
Try a simple weekly check-in: What felt good between us? What felt missed? What needs repair? What is one small thing we want to try next week?
Short is the point
A check-in that takes ten minutes and actually happens beats a perfect conversation that never starts.
